This is the saddle of the future. Finally, a tree anatomically designed to fit the curvature of the horse's back. This tree is flexible and shock-absorbing, yet firm. It molds to the horse's back even as his musculature changes through training and conditioning. The seat is not deep, but if feels as if it is, because this saddle does not force you into any position - it allows you to sit correctly. It gives the rider the sensation of sitting deeply into the horse. My horse's back came up immediately in this saddle and my own position improved. Tad Coffin spent many years of R & D on the tree and I am hoping that other saddlers follow suit - this saddle truly puts an end to fitting problems and ortho pads. The worksmanship is impeccable - the French leather is gorgeous. If you're used to the saddle "locking you in" with a deep seat and huge knee rolls, the Tad Coffin saddle will take some getting used to - this saddle does not dictate your position! Instead it allows you to find the correct position.~nl~It was pricey - $3,200, but Tad will build it to fit your body size and you will never need to worry about whether it fits your horse three years from now.~nl~It took about four months to receive it after placing the order, but was worth every penny and every day I had to wait!~nl~It also cleans beautifully and does not seem to show much wear.~nl~
