Blue Ribbon (older saddles)
I can't speak for the new Models, but the older flat Blue Ribbons are very well designed. The seat is flat, but offers great support. You ride correctly balanced without having to fight the saddle. These saddles fit all but the very widest horses well. The curved cut at the rear of the flaps is very flattering to Morgans, Arabs, and other smaller horses on whom the modern wide flap saddles tend to look overwhelmingly big. Leather is thin, but holds up well. The worst thing to do to these is over-oil them. I don't use oil on mine. I use a harness dressing or leather balm very sparingly and only occasionally. If you find an older Blue Ribbon in good condition, buy it.
